Preschool scholarship program

Since 2007, United Way of Mower County has provided the Preschool Scholarship Program to lessen financial barriers of students receiving an early education. The program provides scholarships to 4-year old’s who will be attending kindergarten and are planning to enroll or are currently enrolled in a Kindergarten Prep Program through Mower County preschools.

United Way of Mower County works in partnership with local organizations and schools to help students achieve success. Our goal is to prepare children for bright futures as we encourage them to excel in the classroom by bringing community partners to the table to best serve the children and their families.

The Success by 6 initiative provides long-term success that sets the stage for life. Children entering kindergarten with basic skills and a strong base to learn are likely to excel and achieve their full potential compared to a student with an isolated or missing early intervention. In addition, children also bear the cost of external inequality.
