Success By 6 is the United Way of Mower County's initiative to provide preschool education and transportation to low income children in Mower County. Through a partnership with SMART Transit, the Parenting Resource Center, and the Hormel Foundation, we work to remove the barriers of cost and transportation to ensure that the children in our community start their academic career prepared and ready to learn. Studies show that when participating in high quality programs children see gains throughout their lives.
UWMC collaborates with preschools in Mower County to identify families that fall within 101-250% of the federal poverty guideline and provide either full payment or tuition assistance for high quality programming. In cooperation with SMART Transit, we are working to remove transportation barriers and offer reasonable transportation rates to all families in need of the service. This program is critical to the long term success of our children and our community.
