2010 Get Fit Grant Applications
The goal of the Get Fit program is to raise funds to distribute back out into the community for healthy living initiatives. With awards totaling $6,000 United Way has started making specific investments in programs designed to make Mower County a healthier community.
Applications are due to United Way of Mower County by July 30, 2010
Get Fit Team Winners-The Yo-Yo's

Scott Lightly, Dawn Lightly, Galen Berg, Lisa Berg, Melissa Griffith,
Darin Nelson, Steve Lundak, & Dennis Hillson.
The Yo-Yo's lost 147.5 total pounds, 8.33% of their weight. They also accumulated 62,935 exercise, nutrition and bonus points. Each winner received a 12 week fitness program from the YMCA, a 1 hour consultation with Hy-Vee dietician including meal plan, Hy-Vee Health Market Basket, gift certificates from Games People Play and Rydjor Bike and fitness prizes from Austin Medical Center.

Alissa Rauser, Sarah Nuss, Missy Cline, Penny Tupy, Naomi Smith,
Kimber Venenga, Sara Silbaugh, & Michelle Asmus.
The Desperate Housewives really kicked into gear and won with an amazing 256,470 total exercise, nutrition and bonus points. Each participant received a gift certificate to South Central Athlete for new athletic shoes, a 1 hour massage from Healing Palms Spa, a Hy-Vee Health Market basket, coupon good for 20% at the Hy-Vee Health Market and gift certificates to Games People Play and
Rydjor Bike Shop.
